What is PTE Academic ?
The Pearson Test of English is a recognized evaluation that measures your command over English through fundamental skills such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The PTE exam is globally acknowledged by numerous educational bodies as evidence of English language proficiency. The test comes in three versions: Academic, General, and Home.

Exam Types
The PTE exam, recognized globally by educational institutions, governments, and organizations, is divided into two categories: PTE Academic and UK Government Tests (previously known as PTE General).
- PTE Academic: This version is typically taken by individuals for academic purposes and is accepted worldwide by English-speaking countries such as Australia, the USA, the UK, New Zealand, among others. It is also used for work and migration visa applications by the governments of Australia and New Zealand.
- UK Government Tests (formerly PTE General Test): This category encompasses four distinct tests: PTE Academic UKVI, PTE Home A1, PTE Home A2, and PTE Home B1.
- If your aim is to work or engage in a non-degree study program in the UK, the Academic UKVI is the appropriate choice. It is a Secure English Language Test (SELT) sanctioned by the UK government.
- The PTE Home A1 test is designed for those seeking to apply for a work or family visa in the UK. The PTE Home A2 test is required for extending a family visa. However, if your goal is to permanently settle in the UK, then the PTE Home B1 is the test to take.
Cancellation Fee
If candidates choose to withdraw from their PTE Academic exam after scheduling it online, they can claim a full refund up to 14 calendar days prior to their test date. If the test is cancelled less than 14 calendar days but at least seven calendar days before the test date, candidates will be eligible for a 50% refund of the PTE test fee paid. However, if the exam is cancelled less than seven calendar days before, no refunds will be given. It’s important for candidates to understand that their PTE test date is not included in the cancellation and reschedule policy.

Rescheduling Fees
Candidates intending to reschedule their test less than 14 calendar days but at least seven full calendar days prior to their test date will need to pay 50% of the PTE test fee. There will be no refunds for rescheduling the exam less than seven calendar days before the test. It’s crucial for candidates to understand that their PTE test date is not considered in the rescheduling policy.
